It’s been a while

Charlotte Timmins
Hi there!

It’s been a while since I updated this and thought it was about time I give you a little update on life behind the scenes.
****
So if you’ve been here before, the last time I updated this it was pretty much early days for Made on the street and I had given you the low down on how it all started and how I had a child attached to my hip pretty much 24/7 (IYKYK).
****
So a lot has happened, Made on the street has taken a bit of a turn and I now offer beautifully embroidered clothing for you, your littles and even your businesses. If you run a business you know how hard it is to keep on top of trends and keep things “new and fresh” and with the handmade clothing I was struggling to keep up with the forever changing trends and I’ll be honest I kind of fell out of love with it as, as soon as I had cut something out and sewn it up it was like the trends did a full 360 and I was clawing my way to the top again as there are some pretty amazing handmade clothing businesses out there and they’re ALWAYS on top of things. So I made a decision to use my little embroidery machine that I had sitting in the corner collecting dust to do the odd few items for people and I was shocked, they actually sold well? So I started questioning myself, should I offer more embroidered items? So I added a few more options and slowly started to decrease the handmade options.
It’s safe to say the embroidery has taken off incredibly and I can never Thankyou all enough for your support and orders.

As of recently I’ve now included the beautiful Welsh language to my logo, my embroidered items and I’m trying my best to re-learn and include it in my social media posts. So (as you’ve probably seen when you came to the website) I am now Y Stryd - Made On The Street. For those of you that don’t speak Welsh , I know I have lots of English followers so Thankyou so much for sticking around, Y Stryd translates to The Street so not a huge change really!
Personally, a lot has happened too, Ronni turned 7 in June and I feel like he’s grown into a fully fledged (almost) teenager. Stevie, the baby that was once constantly attached to my hip, turned 4 this past week and it’s scary how fast those 4 years have flown by, she’s turning into such a confident cheeky chops.
Me? Well after being with the other half for nearly 13 years we decided back in May it was time that we all had the same surname so we got married. It wasn’t anything big, a very quiet (we didn’t tell anyone other than our witnesses) but a lovely intimate morning and was so lovely to work our way round telling all the family. There was a few swear words from them when they realised what we had sneakily done (in a good way), and a few tears.

As I move into 2025 I really can’t wait to take the embroidery side of the business to bigger and better avenues, and maybe the handmade clothing will make a come back but in small seasonal drops instead of  made to order? Watch this space.
As always a huge huge Thankyou for being here, sticking around, for all of your support and orders it means the world to have you here and coming along on this crazy business journey with me. ❤️
